A comprehensive finance book that I definitely recommend as a beginner's guide to personal finances for Canadians. It reads more like a primer rather than a total complete guide as it provides action steps to help you develop your own finance goals.

While this is a nonfiction aimed at teens, I think adults and teens alike will gain something out of reading this book. Brandy Colbert's writing is accessible and informative and does not shy away from telling the truth about this horrific part of American history. One of my new favourite manga series! This hilarious series stars two academic rivals, the class president and the top student, who are competing against each other to get the other to confess their love first as they both believe that whoever admits their feelings first loses (hence the title: love is war). What an amazingly innovative picture book! I recommend this alphabet book for families to read aloud together with kids who are learning to read and/or love the marvel of spelling. I also recommend it to teachers for this reason. The book goes through each letter and demonstrates that when you remove a letter, the word entirely changes (e.g. "Without the A, the beast becomes the best").What an amazingly innovative picture book! If you're a fan of fast-paced fantasy with a mix of romance, you'll definitely enjoy this series! This book features a dual POV that follows Miyoung (a nine-tailed fox who must devour the souls of men to survive) and Jihoon (the teen whose life she saves). I am not a huge fantasy reader so I enjoyed how character-driven the story was without sacrificing any worldbuilding. I am not usually one for thrillers (or series) but the reviews for this book were positive and I similarly found myself immediately immersed in the story. Nemesis stars Min, a teen who is murdered every even-year birthday only to wake up the next day completely unharmed and unscathed. Her small town doctor says it's a recurring vivid hallucination but Min is starting to suspect that there is a bigger mystery afoot... Due to the dark subject matter, I recommend this one for older teens and adults. I highly recommend this title as it discusses the often hidden A in LGBTQIA+: asexuality. Written by an ace author, this book really unpacks the stereotypes and misgivings about the identity. The author also talks about the ways in which specific relationships are idealized, which can be harmful to all identities. The writing was compelling and self-aware so while this may have the look of a traditional guide/explainer, it did have a bit of a biography feel.I highly recommend this title as it discusses the often hidden A in LGBTQIA+: asexuality.
