A Higher Loyalty

Truth, Lies, and Leadership
Apr 25, 2019SLDESLIPPE rated this title 3.5 out of 5 stars
A surprisingly thoughtful, reflective series of personal anecdotes illustrating what Comey considers effective or poor leadership. More humble than I would have expected; he reflects on his own shortcomings over the years and what he learned from them. You can also hear him grapple with some serious ethical dilemmas he faced particularly in his last 2 years as FBI director and his rationale for why he made the decisions he made. At heart, Comey came off as a deeply committed civil servant who's primary concern was protecting the integrity of the institutions he represented. Ultimately, a quick easy read for anyone interested in exploring and understanding what makes strong leadership.
