I really wanted to like this book - and yes, I was sucked in because as a die-hard Harry Potter fan, I saw the word Hallows in the title, and recognized Michael Scott as the author of the popular junior Nicholas Flamel series. And so I dove in, excited to be reading a grown up book again. Only to find myself struggling through the sex and the gore. What happened Mr. Scott? Do I thank you or your co-author Ms. Freedman for this? Perhaps I've been reading too much YA and junior fiction of late, and I'm not used to this. The premise was interesting, as it is based on British and Celtic lore, which I did end up looking more into. But otherwise...the book didn't grab me with it's story the way it did with the cover. But I did finish it, so it couldn't have been that horrible.
