An Inspector Ian Rutledge Mystery

Having just finished Wings of Fire and, before that, A Fine Summer's Day, I was up to date on the personal history of Rutledge which added to my understanding of the story. This book shows Rutledge as slowly moving forward with his life (less Hamish & PTSD; more interest in a personal life). As usual, my only disappointment is the ending - the plot slowly unfolds with the revelation of many small details while the resolution is quick and abrupt. A longer denouement would be appreciated.
