Lemonade by Beyoncé was an okay album in my opinion. I personally don’t care for Beyonce as much as a lot of other people do, I think she is a pretty good singer but I feel like her music is overhyped. For example, I only liked a few of the songs on this album. One of my favourites was Hold Up, and that is probably one of the most well-known songs from Lemonade back in 2016. There are approximately 12 songs on the album, which were all pretty well-written. If I were to pick a few others as my favourites, I would probably choose Sorry and Don’t Hurt Yourself. I like when Bey makes really catchy songs that you can dance to, and I most likely did not enjoy this album as much because most of the songs were pretty chill and had a more slow vibe to them! I would rate this album 3/5. @Montgomery of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library This album was released in 2016 by Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. The album quickly rose to fame since it addressed so many of her marital issues with her husband Jay-Z, as well as many other feelings that she has had over the years but didn’t feel like she was able to share. My favorite songs off of this album are Hold Up, Formation, and Sandcastles. The song that quickly became very well known and controversial is Formation, since it addressed many issues in society regarding racism and more. I personally respect her for continuing to speak up for what she believes is right even after she has become so famous. I would rate this wonderful album 5/5 stars. - @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board Lemonade has to be one of the best albums in the past couple of years. If you have the chance to, the visual album is great to watch. The variety of genres in the album display Beyoncé’s vocal abilities beautifully. Each song is catchy, and good on it’s own. This album is an experience just listening to it. The emotions put into each song are contagious. The songs all fit together to create a story of self discovery, and healing from infidelity. It even tackles some social issues as well. This album is one of her best, and if we get more music from her in the future it would be interesting to see what she does next. - @reviewsfromthe9 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Where do I begin!? Beyonce truly changed the game with this album. The visuals and music videos were so raw and well produced at every step of the way that they alone are worth 100 awards! This album shows you a side of Bey that you have never seen or heard before as she opens up about her husband's affair and how she dealt. She calls out his mistress, talks about the pain she felt, and how she found confidence again. Every song, every lyric, is a work of art. ‘Hold Up’, ‘Sandcastles’, ‘Formation’, and ‘Sorry’ are among the best. So amazing!!
