The first 2/3rds of "Flight..." I found compelling, exciting, interesting. The final portion did bog down a bit, and there were just a few too many coincidences (perhaps that is what drives the WWII thriller genre, though) for easy acceptance. However, a good solid novel that would make a fabulous film in the right hands. Johns does pin small plot pieces to actual factoids, and describes these in 2 Notes sections. For example, i had no idea that the airship Zepplin's creator was a vocal Nazi critic, and yet - was left alone due to his fame & social status,or that questions about Hitler's sexualtiy have often been raised. I found intriguing enough to do further research.
