Desperately Seeking Susan aka Madonna's screen debut is enjoyable enough, though the plotline is a bit far-fetched. I'm not sure Madonna is "acting" here so much as just sauntering through each scene emitting a cool sexual energy and tough-girl quips (which is basically just her real life personality). She's a more believable actress in a League of Their Own. Rosanna Arquette willingly commits to her transformation from bored NJ housewife to Susan-clone and thankfully hooks up with a tall, slender, handsome, and always utterly charming Aidan Quinn. There's a lot of silliness involving a jacket, Egyptian earrings, a craptastic Lower East Side magic show, and a dead mobster, but if you throw all the plausibility out the window, you'll probably have a decent time.
