The Original Movie Soundtrack will be better than the actual movie. It is very depressing. It takes Our LORD's name in vain. It also has a lot of language and strong sexual content. Come on Tim, you can do better than this. So can you Gwyneth. Not recommended.

A romantic musical about an alcoholic singer, her husband and admirers, Unfortunately, if you take out those lengthy singing performances, (watch Faith Hill's "Give In To Me" in "Videos",) there was little left but a well worn story of a musician struggling with substance abuse and aspiring young musicians with broken dreams. The alternate ending was less romantic but probably more realistic.

Note: Paltrow recorded 4 songs and Hedlund performed 1 tune in the original picture soundtrack album, all 5 are forgettable:

Worth watching at least once if you've never seen it. It has a good story and good music.

Country movies are always good

Endless parade of clichés about women, relationships and addiction. Poor/forgettable plastic acting. Gwyneth gets better at the last 20 mins of the film.

It was a great movie, although i don't like country! I enjoyed the play of Gwyneth and her voice!

Im not a Paltrow fan but I liked this movie. Ppl forget that stars/athletes/ performers/rich ppl are REAL ppl w/the same regular ppl problems. Yes money and fame helps to hide insecurities and indiscretions but it doesnt eliminate them. Regardless of my personal feelings for the lead, i found it a feel good story. I hate Paltroe chracter felt the need to get out the game permanently but thats how some ppl see their only escape. It reminds me if the tvseries Nashville relationship w/Connie and Hayden. I never knew i liked country music until that show and a few Carrie underwood songs but the tv/movie shows opened up this viewer to a whole nother world of Real good music.

I recall watching & enjoying his film a few weeks ago but can't remember a single scene, song or character - wonder if that reveals something about me or the movie?

It wasn't what I was expecting at all, and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either. I couldn't really find a moral to it, other than, I guess life goes on? I don't know. All I know is, Leighton Meester made the movie, without her, I would not enjoy it as much.

I picked this up at the library, not remembering anything about it - I thought it was a good, entertaining movie and wasn't sorry I watched it. I enjoyed the music as did most people it seems!

Very moving, and great music. Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow both gave very believable performances.
