A film noir classic.
This is an expansion adaption of the Ernst Hemingway short story of the same title. Burt Lancaster plays the Swede a man who mysteriously is the target of two professional killers who come to a roadside diner looking for him. That is the story as Hemingway wrote it. The screen writer did an excellent job of rounding out the mysterious back ground of the Swede.
The young beautiful Ava Gardner plays the perfect film noir femme fatale.
This film is well worth viewing.
