Less a book and more an extended podcast interview, this is Dolly speaking about her life via her song lyrics. I highly recommend the audio version as each section starts with Dolly singing a few lines from a song she wrote and then expanding on the who, what, and why that inspired the lyrics. Told in her own voice, Dolly shares her life and her philosophy with the reader/listener. Missing from the audio version are the photographs in the book version so the reader might want to sample both formats.

I enjoyed this. It is mostly about her songs and performing, and not so much her biography, though some of her life story is mentioned in this. I also liked it was her talking in this audiobook, and not someone reading her transcript.
