Pete's father starts kneading the dough. Next, some oil is generously applied. (Its really water.) And then some tomatoes. (They're really checkers.) When the dough gets tickled, it laughs like crazy.

On a rainy day when Pete is in a funk, his dad cheers him up by making him into a pretend pizza. This book is a lark to read because you can do the actions right along with Pete’s dad - kneading, sprinkling, topping, tickling, and chasing - to the delight of the listener.

Cute story about a dad rough-housing with his son one rainy afternoon til the sun comes out. Inspires giggles galore.

Fun title, and our 2.5 yr old loves the silliness of this make-believing! A favorite.

My fav for preschool storytime! Made interactive by making the kids lie on the floor in a circle. As the story is read I mist the kids with oil (water in a spray bottle), stretch the dough, and sprinkle on the ingredients which is shredded scrap paper; red (sauce), orange (cheese), and green (peppers). Kind of messy but the kids have loads of fun and usually are eager to help clean up.
