I have read a few of her previous books and I had hoped that, as this author matured, her characters would become more absorbing. The book is boring and the plot line is convoluted and bizarre. She has the chief inspector totally unsure of his own drinking capacity, blacking out, falling in bed with a random Canadian female and getting tricked by the RCMP to take the fall for a serial killer who has followed Adamsburg to Canada.
