This movie is exactly what I had imagined while reading Woolf's novel. The only issue I had with the entire production was the ending, and this is only because it differs from the ending of the book. Otherwise, it was artfully done. Those who didn't appreciate it PROBABLY haven't read the book...

A treat for indie-film fans and fans of Virginia Woolf's of the same name. Swinton is delightful, and the brisk pace keeps the story rolling along quite nicely. Cinematography is brilliant, as is the costuming. Synthpop fans should keep an eye open for a couple of cameos from former Bronski-Beat & Communards front-man Jimmy Sommerville.

Completely agree with Jenbrarian. Saw it when it was first released, I think you also have to like indie films to appreciate it.

Tilda Swinton is amazing and the 'look' of the film is captivating but in the end I felt the substance of the film didn't live up to the visual appeal. Just ok.

art direction wonderful - pace and plot horrible.

Stunning and witty, a great film to revisit every 5 years or so. Swinton is, as ever, captivating.
