More movie-junk about demon possession. When is this nonsense ever gonna stop? I think that ManMachine's comments below sum up this ditzy movie very well.

Powerful and moving. I understand that it is human nature to prefer to believe that demonic possession is merely a myth. It is mentioned in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible.

The movie claims to be based on a true story. Thankfully, it lacks the pretensions and shock/awe of 1973's The Exorcist....and for that fact....I think that a viewing by believers would be highly recommended. Well done.

From its shaky standpoint of trying to convince me that "demon" possession is, in fact, a reality, this film certainly fell mighty short of reaching its desired objective._____ Whenever a film claims to be "based on a true story", I always take that familiar marketing ploy with a grain of salt while, at the same time, asking myself - Which part of this tale is the part that's supposed to be based on truth?_____ As far as movies about exorcisms and demon possession go, "Emily Rose" brought absolutely nothing new to the table. It was just the rehashing of the same old predictable nonsense that we've all been force-fed for 40 years now, since 1973's The Exorcist._____ I found this particular possession to be actually kinda tame and toned-down, even by standards of horror from 1973. Emily never once used any profanity, nor did she slam the bible, or even sexually abuse herself. Like, was eating bugs and screaming her fool head off the best that she could do?_____ Since performing a standard exorcism consists of reciting "The Lord's Prayer", then, does that mean that anyone who repeats these trite lines as a daily meditation is actually giving themselves an exorcism?
