Finally saw it after 14 years. Wow was it great. I had heard it got some bad reviews; but it was great. Clearly low budget compared to a Batman movie so it's not fair to expect too much.
It's big flaw and what almost ruins the movie is the low quality CGI yuk! This movie would be better off with out it even if it weren't replaced with some better quality material. Edit it out -JUNK.
Halle Berry's performance was AMAZING! as was that of her stunt and martial arts doubles all AMAZING women. If they replace the lame CGI with some additional live action stunts and fights of the same quality we see in this movie it could be made perfect.

Was the plot terrible? Absolutely. Was this anything like the Catwoman we knew from the comics? Nope. Did I love it anyway when it came out because it was cheeseball fun? Totally did. It came out at a time where I hadn't seen a comic movie starring a woman before (Elektra, which was also terrible, wouldn't come out until the following year, and Supergirl was 20 years earlier). Also, Catwoman has always been one of my favorite characters.

I hated the "Oh, it's a movie starring a woman, and the main villain is a woman, so how about we make her the evil head of a cosmetics company who murdered her husband because he was removing her as the model face of their brand and putting a 20 year-old in her place? And let's make her skin like marble because of her face cream!" plot. It was awful. Did the writers not think women would want to see a Catwoman movie unless it incorporated cosmetics?

Halle Berry's Catwoman was nothing like the comic characters; they decided to make her one in a long line of catwomen, who received the cat-like powers upon death and were revived to live life on their own terms. The scene did call to mind Michelle Pfeiffer's scene in Batman Returns, when she was brought back to life after being bitten by cats, after being pushed out the window of Schrek's office.

Halle did show a lot of grace and humor for the critically-panned, audience-despised movie. When she attended the Razzies to accept her award for worst performance, she brought along the Oscar she had recently won for Monster's Ball.

I hope they will make a new Catwoman movie and give it to Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) or another great female director. Many a bad film with a man at the helm has flopped, but they didn't say "Hey, we shouldn't make them because nobody wants to see a male-led movie"; let one movie with a woman in the lead fail (Supergirl, Catwoman, Elektra, Chun-li), and suddenly it's because the movie was about a woman, and not because the script was awful, etc. We need women directing and writing our superheroine films if we're to make more and better strides in female-led, comic-based movies the way we did with Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel.

Hello, darlings! - This super-silly movie about an "evil" cosmetics company and a woman who becomes a super-hero in order to right this wrong is so bad that it's absolutely laughable to the extreme.

This is the most cringe-inducing movie that I have ever seen.
The script, acting, and ESPECIALLY the dialogue are all weapons-grade awful.
I am actually embarrassed for anyone involved in this movie.

Oddly enough: The CGI is pretty good for 2004. Which seems horribly misused on a film which was, no doubt, written by 12 year olds.

Wow, this movie was bad, almost felt sorry for the actors in it, but they got paid, so wasn't all bad.

Catwoman is one of those movies that is a total embarrassment on all counts.

A meek employee of a big cosmetics firm is murdered when she overhears incriminating evidence about a new beauty cream with gruesome side effects.... But, instead of dying she is resurrected as Catwoman and tries to bring the guilty party to justice.

Catwoman has a nonsensical story concept that is illogical to the extreme. And to make matters worse we are given a heroine who is scarcely worth rooting for.

Ever once in a while I like a bad movie as a kind of palette cleanser. I heard this was bad, but, boy, is it bad! It has a 3.3 on IMDB and a 9% on Rotten Tomatoes. There were plans to do a Catwoman movie with Michelle Pfeiffer reprising her role from "Batman Returns" and Tim Burton directing, but, alas, that never happened. One of many ridiculous things about this movie is that is makes no attempt to be faithful to the comics. She's not even Selina Kyle, she's the absurdly named Patience Philips, who like dies and gets revived by some kind of supercat. Huh? Also the plot involves toxic make-up. Seriously. Oscar winner Halle Berry wears a very impractical costume and while she looks good, her performance is laughably bad, as is villain Sharon Stone, who at least hams it up. Probably up there with the Ben Affleck "Daredevil" as the worst of the comic book movies. The character has been redeemed somewhat by "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Gotham."

"Meow!"_____ I think that Halle Berry as Catwoman, a red-lipsticked, whip-cracking, supermodel superhero, was absolutley laughable to the extreme. Yeah! She sniffed catnip, ate tuna right out of the tin and (get this!) played basketball in frickin' stilettos. (Ha! Spare me!)_____ And I ask you - Was Catwoman's story really for real? Was it? Was it really about an "evil" cosmetics company? And a bad facial cream? Was this really the best that the stupid screenwriters (there were apparently 28 of them) could come up with for this $100 million production?_____ Catwoman's nonsensical story concept (that was illogical to the max) did only one thing - It set up impossible relationships and gave us a heroine who was scarcely worth rooting for._____ And, finally - Sharon Stone, as Laurel Hedare, stunk worse than a skunk. Even while parodying herself as the lethal wife of a cosmetics manufacturer, Stone managed, quite convincingly, to be as insufferably dull as you could possibly imagine._____ I think that Catwoman so rightly deserves every single bit of negative criticism that it gets._____ "Meow!"

What a silly movie. Other reviewers are being kind.

No aspect of Catwoman is well-done. Everything is simply horrendous. I don't want to say anymore because I would be here all day writing and this review would become awfully redundant.
