Shallie Fletcher has left heartbreak where it belongs – in the past. What matters is the woman she's become – not the girl she was. So what if she needs the help of the gorgeous cowboy who once left her in tears? Running away is no longer her thing – she'll get what she wants and she's sure it's not Cord.

Cord Hollister knows how to handle horses – not surprise daughters. But when a teenager shows up at his doorstep he needs to find out the truth. One thing he does know; he doesn't have time for Shallie. She wants to learn how to train horses – and that's all he will do for her. So what if she's stunning and enchanting? He can resist – he hopes.

This book was not good. The general plot had so much potential, but there was just too much going on. All of the different threads of the story (and there were SEVERAL) didn’t have enough time to develop. I felt like I was reading the spark notes of a much longer book. I did not feel connected to ANY of the characters. The “change of heart” for each of the characters was unrealistic in every instance. Anytime there was any semblance of conflict, it was resolved before you even knew what was happening. I’m normally the type that likes anything with a happy ending, but this book never reeled me in. I finished it purely because I finish what I start, but I skimmed most of the last 150 pages. Don’t waste your time.

I have to say this is not a good book by Linda and I have read almost all of her books. Disappointed as I'm a fan of her stories and hope the next book in this series is better.

I never leave reviews but this was soooooooo bad I cannot resist. It's not that the story was bad, it's a nice story, but it's written in such a format that it's really tedious to read. You know how the last chapter of a tense and dramatic romance book wraps up after the high point, with everything fitting magically into place and everything happy ever after? Yes, that's how this entire book is, from page 1. Could not be more boring to read and the only reason I finished it was so I could add to my number of books read this year...
