A #1 New York Times Bestselling Author'Tis the season for change and Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is embracing it, returning from the States to live in the charming village of Letherby and working with her best friend, Suze, in the gift shop of Suze's stately home. Life is good, especially now that Becky takes time every day for mindfulness . . . which actually means listening to a meditation tape while hunting down online bargains. But Becky still adores the traditions of Christmas: Her parents host, carols play on repeat, her mother pretends she made the Christmas pudding, and the neighbors come 'round for sherry in their terrible holiday sweaters. Things are looking cheerier than ever, until Becky's parents announce they're moving to ultra-trendy Shoreditch -- unable to resist the draw of craft beer and smashed avocados -- and ask Becky if she'll host this year. What could possibly go wrong? Her sister demands a vegan turkey, her husband insists that he just wants aftershave -- again, and little Minnie demands a very specific picnic hamper: Surely Becky can manage all this, as well as the surprise appearance of an old-boyfriend-turned-rock-star and his pushy new girlfriend, whose motives are far from clear. But as the countdown to Christmas begins and her big-hearted plans take an unexpected turn toward disaster, Becky starts to wonder if chaos will ensue, or if she'll manage to bring comfort and joy to Christmas after all.

In the latest book in the Shopaholic series, Becky finds herself hosting Christmas for the first time. Things start to get out of hand and she tries to accommodate all of her family's requests while shopping for the perfect Christmas presents. Fans of the series won't be disappointed.

What a hilarious Christmas Book. Whether you are stressed with all the Christmas activities or are all done and just enjoying a quiet read this is the book for you. Well, it won't be quiet because every now and then you are going to be chuckling or outright laughing and trying to keep up with Becky who is hosting Christmas for her family and friends. The book is a riot but also has its poignant moments and at the end you'll be glad you read it and sad it's over.

If you skipped books 7 and 8 in the Shopaholic series, like me, then this is a return to the hijinks of Becky Bloomwood we all know and love.

Holiday hi jinks keep Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) on her toes as she balances home, work, and now hosting Christmas for the very first time.

I thought this latest Shopaholic book was a hoot. If you like this series, then you will enjoy it a lot. I think this book regains the charm, humour and lightness of the first few books, after the last couple of books went a bit astray. Becky finds herself hosting her first family Christmas and of course she goes overboard trying to make everything perfect. I think the entire "sprygge" storyline is one of the funniest things Kinsella has ever written. The Christmas setting was hugely enjoyable and the book was very festive. Sometimes I found it a bit frustrating when Becky did something incredibly foolish, but she is still a very lovable character. Overall it was charming, sparkly and enormously fun.

Sophie Kinsella has given us the Becky Brandon (nee Bloomberg) we met in book one and given her more challenges only Becky could tackle with her enthusiasm, optimism and determination. Be prepared to laugh, smile and spend a day reading!

Becky hosts Christmas - food, presents, decorations. When things don't always run smoothly she finds a way to do what need to be done, helping others and sharing her blessings.

I'm not going to spoil the plot by revealing any details. This was such a great book to start the new reading year with!
