Cautionary tale on technology & urban sprawl. Bittersweet ending because book was written before post-war superhighways boom & the suburbs. Story more relevant than ever.

A nice story, but quite wordy for the young audience that it was first intended for. A great way to talk about the urban vs country life and the changes to places over time -even for older children.

I loved this book as a child and the illustrations are the same as I remember them but readin this as an ebook was rather frustrating because you kept reading the same page over and over as the perspective changed to give a different view of the page.

Beautiful story. Talks about life in the country and how cities are built.

The Little House: Her Story. An interesting look at time from her point of view, describes the seasons and years much in the way a house might. Simply gentle.

Parts of the story reminded me of "A Contract With God: Life on Dropsie Avenue." A very sweet story.
