Very well-crafted and intense in psychological pacing, without feeling contrived or choppy. This is definitely an author to watch in the genre.

Another solid read from Wendy Walker. In this one she takes her readers back and forth between events of about 6 months before, the night before and the present day. While this back and forth may be distracting and hard to follow with some authors, Walker makes the transitions easily and keeps you guessing the whole time she what the outcome will be. Stories like this one have a this one Walker gives readers several that you just don't see coming. Just when you think you've unwound one daisy wheel thread she spins you on another. Definitely one of your must read books.

Excellent book! Kept me interested from page one. I was on the edge as the pages turned. I kept trying to figure out the end but then it was a great surprise! Wendy Walker does an amazing job of keeping her readers wanting to finish this book! Don't be surprised if you finish it in one day.

A great psychological thriller that will keep you guessing. Walker does a great job alternating between Laura's date night and Rosie's frantic search for her when she does not come home. Lots of secrets will be revealed, but not necessarily the ones you're anticipating. Looking forward to more from this author.

I liked this book. I read it in one sitting. Was not complex, characters were well developed and I didn’t see the plot twist at the end. Would read another from this author!

A heart-pounding thriller/mystery with well-timed plot twists. Laura dresses up and goes out on a date, but does not return home before the next morning even though her transportation was a minivan borrowed from sister Rosie. Events in Laura's past lead to doubts about who may have been in greater danger? Laura or her date? Three threads make up our narrative: 1) Laura and "the Night Before" 2) Rosie and the search for Laura beginning the next morning 3) Transcripts from Laura's sessions with her therapist from months earlier. The last entry will break your heart. This will make a fantastic beach or vacation read for summer travelling.
