Quick and easy this is not. Yet, despite its garish (to me anyway) graphic design, this book stands as both a solid introduction to the Queer/Trans experience and a great self-help book for those who are already a part of the larger LGBTQ+ community. From offering reassurance and validation of various lifestyles to some more general ideas and tactics readers might want to pursue on their own, there's definitely something for everyone here.

Nice basic overview of gender expression and sexuality. The cute illustrations were fun, but most of all, I liked that this is a book geared first and foremost for readers who may be trying to figure some things out, and while cis-gendered, heterosexual readers can also learn from it, they're almost a secondary audience. It nicely flips the dynamics of these gender-101-type books.

At first glance, I was enchanted by the fantastical comics of humans, snails, forests, and "sproutlings." The art is lovely and well designed, yes. But then I started reading, and my heart just about exploded. This is a lovely comic for all ages, for anyone (queer, questioning, or just desiring to be a thoughtful ally), about queer and trans identities. Chapters cover the word queer, gender identity, gender expression, sexuality, asexuality, dysphoria, coming out and the safety thereof, self respect and love, healthy and toxic relationships, and other resources. It's the most accessible, comprehensive queer informational text I've come across, because it is quick, detailed and multi-faceted, friendly, and gentle.
