Fantastic thriller. This is definitely a binge-watch for both seasons 1 & 2.

A Stephen King adapted television series that actually works. Brendan Gleeson a very underated actor is brilliant as a tormented ex detective who has a need to continue his investigation into an unsolved murder case. With exceptional performances from the supporting cast, an adapted screenplay with intensity, compassion, and wit, this is right up there with many of my favorite series such as broadchurch/wallinger/dcibanks and others.
I do hope there is a series 2.

Signature Stephen King drama. Can’t wait for season II.

Grisly and gruesome, but redeemed by fine acting especially from Brendan Gleeson and Kelly Lynch. Takes a long time to set up what is based on a shorter Stephen King story. It occurs to me that King writes about some of our rawest fears, and seeing them on screen up close and personal may not always serve our sensibilities. But the fact that he fearlessly does so, deserves some credit.

Great story and acting.

Like this as much as another recent King's adaptation "IT 2018." Similarly, the series unfolded with an ultra violent opening and followed by a string of events involving a cat and mouse game through cyberspace between the demented perv and a washed-out retired detective who had a broken marriage, an obese curmudgeon but a female-magnet of all ages. Unrealistic characters aside, no idea how crucial assumptions for the story events come to so often, such as the many scenes on computer hacking: "So somebody would have had to manually load this computer? I mean, actually have their fingers on the keyboard, right?" Mr. Robot it is not but "Bates Motel" plus "A renegade detective called Bill Hodges."

I liked the books in this series a lot. I enjoyed this mini series as the older detective refuses to let the mass murder of a group of job seekers go, until there is justice. The murderer is evil, and enjoys his torture, and murdering of various people. When he tries to gaslight Bill, he goes too far. The tough older man resists, and begins to hunt the fiend who stalk him. Enraged the fiend stalks anyone Bill cares for in his life. Nice twists.

A good mystery.. Acting is outstanding.. Woman who is the next door neighbor adds a bit of humor.

Some quotes in and this on death by lightning is interesting:
I think God gave your father all his light at once, and he died in the glory of that light.
-And what was the Almighty's plan for Gerald?
He was so special, God just had to take him early.
You know, they say that much electricity hitting your body all at once is pleasurable.
***SPOILER ALERT*** Eureka moment:

Yeah, it's a slave program, hidden in her Mail Contacts. It's called, uh, Inner Demon. So you can't use it to turn on a computer at least I don't think so but once a computer is on, you can run everything remotely from your own computer you can open files, you can look at search histories or deactivate programs or...
-So somebody would have had to manually load this computer? I mean, actually have their fingers on the keyboard, right?
