I give this a very solid 3 1/2 stars. I love it when you can find a solid comedy that is actually funny and "hits the right spots." In fact, toward the beginning, there is a funny enough scene that I actually laughed really hard, which seems rare in this day and age (lol). The humour can obviously be pretty over the top but quite enjoyable. Quirky, lovable, and our 2 main characters played by Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz are both very likable and funny. Cool to see a late 90s flick and get a brief break from the modern day.

The dialogue itself too wasn't just funny, but seemed to be very well written and enjoyable.

Not worth rating in my opinion. Pushed through just to see a few popular actors in their earlier years. Most of them disappointed but I'm compelled to blame it on the fact that it's a Farrelly Bros movie (oops...didn't know).

This comedy/romance movie stars Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller, and tells the story of how he gets back the โ€œone that got awayโ€. Ted hires someone to track down the girl that he was supposed to go to prom with years ago, so that he can trick her into dating him. This leads to many outlandish and farce moments that will leave you with your jaw hitting the floor. It definitely goes beyond where most movies do, but still delivers a fairly entertaining and hilarious story. I would rate this movie 4/5 stars, for its sheer ability to entertain alone.

Did not see this when it first came out in the theaters. Glad I watched it. Absurd with an intelligent script, if that makes sense. Almost got disgusted with the twists and turns out of nowhere, however.

if freedom of speech were only applicable to popular speech, it would be meaningless.

VERY GOOD 1998 Farrelly Brothers film - whack sense of humor which may not work for everyone but did for me. The bits with the dog were good, as were others also a bit over the top.

[after telling Mary that he's an architect]

Pat Healy: Really, it's only a side thing for my true passion.

Mary: And what's that?

Pat Healy: I work with retards.

Mary: Isn't that a little politically incorrect?

Pat Healy: Yeah, maybe, but hell, no one's gonna tell me who I can and can't work with.

Ted: Japan? What's she doing in Japan?
Pat Healy: Well, you've heard of mail-order brides? Well, they go that way too.
Ted: What, are they desperate? She's a whale!
Pat Healy: You can't forget, it's a sumo culture, Ted. They pay by the pound over there. Sorta like, um, tuna.
