I thought this movie was super fun and really sweet. This is a fast-paced film with a big cast and a lot of moving parts. Everything that made 2015's Ant Man so fun is here: shrinking and growing everyday objects, friendly ants who are cute if you give them a chance, Paul Rudd as the affable hero, Michael Douglas as his cranky mentor, Evangeline Lilly, who now *also* has a superpowered shrinking suit, and Michael Pena as fast-talking Luis. This time, Douglas is on a quest to find his missing wife while criminals are trying to grab his inventions, Lilly can shrink and fly, there is a ghostlike costumed figure pursuing our heroes, Lawrence Fishburne appears as a bitter academic rival to Douglas, and Rudd needs to keep a humorless FBI agent off his back. This film is funny, relentless, with plenty of visual thrills.

An important movie to watch before "Avenger's End Game."

Directed by Peyton Reed in 2018 as a sequel to 2015's Ant-Man, this American superhero drama depicts a mission to fight alongside the Wasp to uncover secrets from the past.
Although the visual effects and inventive use of shrinking and growing in the action scenes appear great, I don't like big ants roaming meaninglessly in the lab.
After all, the story doesn't seem like my cup of green tea.

Marvel has another winner!
I really liked this sequel! Ever since I had seen Ant-Man, I was hoping that they would be able to do another one, following the collaboration of this character, and was not disappointed.
Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and Hope van Dyne/Wasp's (Evangeline Lilly: The Hurt Locker: 2008; Reel Steel: 2011; Hobbit: 2013-14) chemistry works for me, along with the good script and the introduction of Ava/Ghost (Hannah John Kamen: Game of Thrones (tv): 2016; Killjoys (tv): 2015-19; Ready Player One: 2018; ), character and their opposite efforts in finding Wasp's mum, Janet van Dyne/Wasp (Michelle Pfieffer).
Enjoyed the melding blend of continued humour and seriousness that make up the rest of the cast that were played well by Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Luis (Michael Pina: Buffalo Soldiers: 2001; Million Dollar Baby: 2004; Lions for Lambs: 2007; American Hustle: 2013; Ant-Man: 2015), Cassie (Abby Ryder Forston: Ant-Man: 2015; A Dog's Journey: 2019), Dave (T.I.), Paxton (Bobby Cannavale: Parker/Blue Jasmine: 2013; Spy/Ant-Man: 2015), Maggie (Judy Greer), Dr. Bill Foster (Laurence Fishborne), Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins: Shanghai Noon: 2000; Lincoln/Django Unchained: 2012; The Hateful Eight: 2015; Tomb Raider: 2018).

Not a bad movie, just not as good as the original. Like a lot of sequels, the writing and the interplay seem a little more forced, trying to recapture the magic of the original.

I adore Paul Rudd, and all the actors did a great job in this fun and funny superhero flick. Luis on truth serum fanboying over Moz is one of the funniest scenes in cinematic history.

Good sequel, I thought it would be bad, but it ties right in with Infinity war. Recommended sequel.

JCLZachC Mar 07, 2019

This sequel leans in to the comedy, doubling down on the fun that made the first one enjoyable, and providing a refreshing entry as we march towards Endgame.

I thought this movie was super fun and really sweet. It was smaller-scaled and more self-contained than a lot of the huge recent super-hero movies (looking at you, Avengers: Infinity War!) but this one was perfectly charming and entertaining on its own. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly were both extremely likeable and played well off of each other. The whole thing was an easy breezy hoot from start to finish. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed Ant-man and the Wasp more than the first movie. I really liked how his character seems more human and ordinary, which at the same time makes him even more special. He makes mistakes, and I find that made him even more relatable and lovable. A good movie.

Luis : “Oh, my abuelita had a jukebox in the restaurant! Yeah, only played Morrissey. And if anybody ever complained, she'd be like ‘Oh, ¿no te gusta Moz’. You know, Chicanos we call him ‘Moz’. ‘Then, ¡adiós!’. What can I say? You know, we relate to this melancholy ballads. You know?”

Scott Lang: [shrunk down to a child's size; runs into Pym's car after going undercover in a school]

Dr. Hank Pym: Hiya, champ, how was school today?

Scott Lang: Aw, ha ha ha! Alright, get your jokes out now, can you fix the suit?

Hope van Dyne: So cranky.

Dr. Hank Pym: You want a juice box and some string cheese?

Scott Lang: Do you really have that?
