Overall, a good movie. Well acted by a top notch cast. There were a few slow spots, but for a war film, that is sometimes real - there are lulls in the action/adrenaline. Not sure that was deliberate by the film-makers though. They put a little bit of the "politics" of the tribalism of Afghanistan into the film with one group embedded with one tribal leader and another group embedded with different tribal leader... and how that affected the tribal leaders' support of the US troops. It also gives you a bit of an understanding of how different warfare in the mountains of Afghanistan is. It was not incredibly thorough, which is probably for the best given the run time of a feature film. Overall, I enjoyed the film.

Based on a true story. The 'extra feature' interviews Jerry Bruckheimer, three of the soldiers involved in the mission and some of the actors in the movie. I thought this was a good movie, and a better story knowing it is a true story. A point in time view of one mission after 9/11; working together with the Afghani tribe peoples who themselves are at war with each other.

For a fast-action war film, I found this quite boring. Something was missing, probably any real empathy with the main characters. Also, being a heroic all-American film, they fail to mention that going after the Taliban (Shiites) was never an effective way of punishing Al Qaeda (Sunni). Truth is, it is widely speculated that the chief purpose of the 9/11 attacks was to suck the U.S. into invading a Muslim country, thereby generating huge anti-American sentiment across the Muslim world. It worked!

This was / is a very good movie true to what happened. If you watch the Special Feature : "12 Strong :The Making of an Impossible Mission" after you watch the movie you will learn a fair amount of the truth that they tried to portray in this movie. I mean they tried to make the scenes in the movie look as much as what happened in real life.

It was a good movie for a one about war. Supposedly a true story and if it is they were excellent solders that accomplished a lot. Lots of action for sure, B. J. liked it better than I did she said I fell asleep and missed 20 minuets. I have never really liked war movies so not a good person to make a judgement call. I am sure others will love it.

It is another in a long line of war hero movies released in the past 5 years. No character development but a lot of gore. If you've seen one of these types of post 9/11 movies you've basically seen them all. None of them add anything different to the characters or the villians. I was disappointed....again.

Bang, Bang. Boom, boom. Bore bore. Yankee boy saves the world again, or so Hollywood says.

This is an American movie, so, naturally, they can never mention that the Taliban were one of the many foreign governments to warn the Americans in the summer of 2001 that Al-Qaeda was plotting an attack.

Well done action movie about special forces in Afghanistan--about half way through I'm thinking I would be ready to quit or leave! A geographic area with its own unique lifestyle, customs and beliefs. And as one Afghani character says, they have been at war for centuries. Based on the book "Horse soldiers" by Doug Stanton. Maybe someone needs to introduce horseback riding into basic training?!
