First she blamed herself. Now she doesn't know who to trust.

When Kit disappeared at a party and was found drowned in the quarry the next day, Clem knew who to point the finger at: herself. She was the last person to see him alive, the last person who could have helped. If she had just kept a closer eye on him instead of her crush, Jake, maybe Kit would still be here. She knows she made a mistake, and wishes she could just forget about it -- but Clem's friend Ellie says she'll expose Clem's secret if she doesn't play along with Ellie's lies.

Jake seems to have his own difficult secrets, and when he and Clem start to talk, they make a plan to help themselves move on. But when an unexpected discovery at the quarry makes everyone question what they thought they knew, Clem and Jake decide it's up to them to uncover the truth.

4 months ago, Kit disappeared at a party. He was then later found drowned in the quarry the next day. Clem was the last person to see him. She could have been there to help instead of getting her crush Jake’s attention. Clem’s friend Ellie says that she will expose Clem's secret if she doesn't play along with Ellie’s lies. This is a very interesting book. It's a good mystery book to read. Lots of people are keeping secrets. It's up to Clem and Jake to work together and find out what happened to Kit. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to read a good mystery book. 4/5 stars.

The secrets we keep is a novel that I think many people can relate to. Maybe not to the same extents, but the main ideas like keeping secrets, shaky friendships and something as simple as managing screen time affect many people. The book is relatively short, but the story is definitely full enough. This book was all about secrets, which makes you feeling like you're forced to read to the end, which is definitely a good thing. Although this book had its benefits, it did have it's downfalls. It was very cliche with all the relationship stuff and also wasn't vert exciting. It kept you wanting the answer, but wasn't a page turner, I was somewhat bored reading the filler pages waiting to get to the end. The ending was not satisfying and kind of a letdown after waiting for it. This book wasn't really my style and personally I wouldn't recommend it.
