A Six-step Plan to Design and Build A Secure Retirement : A Canadian Guide

Concern about retirement income and finances is running high for anyone approaching the final years of their working life. The concern is not unfounded. A long period of historically low interest rates which impacted the return on investments, the 2012 changes by government to the Canada Pension Plan, predictions of another recession and increasing government debt have all combined to create a perfect storm of economic uncertainty. If you can see retirement on the horizon, uncertainty is not what you want.
Your Retirement Income Blueprint provides the plan you need to build a financially secure retirement, offering strategies that show how to:
Combine government and personal sources of income most efficiently
Determine which assets to use first and which to defer
Preserve government benefits and entitlements that are often needlessly wasted or lost
Create results that are more survivor - and estate - friendly than traditional approaches
Greatly reduce the tax burden on your income and estate
Your Retirement Income Blueprint was written with Boomers in mind, because this age group is increasingly aware of the importance of retirement income planning but often cannot find the information they need even amongst all the financial planners. This book is the foundation for making the most of what you have worked a lifetime to save.

Very complete and useful book, I'm even tempted to buy it! And it is with Canadian examples.

It's a rare thing when I borrow a library book and the decide to buy it. Rarer still when I recommend it to others.

I've read many finance related books but this was the first that focused on how to "de" accumulate your retirement savings. Many great ideas and points in this book. Highest recommendation from me.

A good book that follows the advice of what every other retirement book says - which for me is quite annoying - always based on you being married, having two incomes and a home. When will some one address the reality of a lot of women and men? Low to mid income, no spouse, no second income and no owned home? The answer is - save as much as you can for as long as you can. You don't need any other advice.

An excellent book which clearly discusses how and when to spend the money you have saved for your retirement.
