Opinion

From Library Staff

Easy reading to help everyone get inspired to help others, whether they are close to home or far far away. Heavy U.S. bias, but I feel confident that if you don't already love Chelsea, you will after reading this book.

Chelsea Clinton has subtitled her book "it's your world", "Get Informed, Get Inspired, and Get Going." And that's exactly what the book tells her readers how to do. Every chapter talks about a world problem , informs the reader where they can get more information on it, inspires us by talking about what other children have done to solve or at least make a dent in the problem and encourages us to get going by doing our bit. She makes it a point to tell us that every little bit counts and how little adds up to a lot.She talks of world problems and how we can all get together and solve them. As an adult I found the book not only educational but interesting and i'm sure youngsters will too.

This book, while makes great points and touches on very important matters in today's society, is repetitive and difficult to read. Chelsea Clinton takes a subject that could be summed up in about 30, well-written pages, and stretches it out into 91 pages about the same three things over and over again. I don't mean to be harsh, but if you want to stay awake, don't read this book. On a positive note, Chelsea Clinton seems very knowledgable when it comes to the subjects talked about in this book. If you are into books that are chock-full of facts and graphs and you want to be an activist, this is for you. If your attention span is shorter than that one friend that just reached 3 feet than you should put this book down. Metaphorically, of course.

Thanks to the Clinton-Rodham family, there are many more homeless today than ever before, due to the profit they made in both helping and aiding jobs offshoring. [Bill's lobbying for various // free trade agreements \\ after he left the White House, and his passage of the GATT, NAFTA, and promoting China into the WTO while in the White House; Hillary's bringing the Tata Consultancy to Buffalo when she was a senator, insuring further jobs offshoring at the beleagured city; Hillary's brother, Tony Rodham, as a lobbyist for the jobs offshoring industry; Chelsea's work at that bastion of American jobs offshoring, McKinsey.]
This book defines hypocracy.

Wonderful book with plenty of ideas for children and teens on how we can all do our part to make the world a better place for everyone. Love it.

I love this book! It empowers you to make the world the place you want it to be. However, it is not for the faint of heart. Think of all the scary things in the world: famine, disease, poverty, global warning. This has them all, but it is not all doom and gloom because Chelsea Clinton really does get the reader informed, inspired, and a ready to get going and change the world
