Owen had a fuzzy yellow blanket. "Fuzzy goes where I go," said Owen. But Mrs. Tweezers disagreed. She thought Owen was too old for a blanket. Owen disagreed. No matter what Mrs. Tweezers came up with, Blanket Fairies or vinegar, Owen had the answer. But when school started, Owen't mother knew just what to do, and everyone -- Owen, Fuzzy, and even Mrs. Tweezers -- was happy.

Owen's parents make multiple attempts to get rid of Owen's blanket. The tactics they use are the typical ones, until his mother comes up with something clever. Not all of us are as lucky as Owen is. A deserving award winner, for it teaches that simply throwing out something is not always the answer, that a simple change is more positive.

Little Owen the mouse and his cherished yellow blanket Fuzzy are inseparable - they eat, sleep, play, travel, and even take baths together. But there’s one place where Fuzzy can’t accompany Owen: school. Owen’s desperate parents try everything to convince him to give up the blanket, but neither tricks, nor bargains, nor suggested cures from a nosy neighbour can split up Owen and Fuzzy. Thankfully, Owen’s clever mother comes through with a creative solution. Warm and engaging, with deft touches of affectionate humour, this feel-good tale is just as cosy and comforting as the blanket it depicts.
