Rescue comes in unexpected ways for one man and his dog in this moving and redemptive novel, The Dog Who Saved Me , by New York Times bestselling author Susan Wilson
Cooper Harrison, a member of the Boston K-9 unit, never thought he would return to Harmony Farms. But when tragedy strikes and he loses his job, Cooper has no choice but to return to his hometown. It is a place where Cooper's father was known as the town drunk; his brother, Jimmy, had a reputation as a delinquent and a bully; and Cooper himself stood little chance of becoming more than "one of those" Harrisons. But now that he's found new work as an animal-control officer, Cooper has another chance at making things right in Harmony Farms. Can a stray dog--a wounded and gun-shy yellow Lab gone feral--teach Cooper what it means to forgive and let go of the past. . .and help him to heal?

The Dog Who Saved Me was my first introduction to Susan Wilson as an author. I consumed this book in a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it, even had to shed a tear or two. I was impressed with the knowledge and research that must have gone into this book. I'll be reading more from this author soon.

This is currently my favorite book. It touched me deeply and even made me look upon my husband's out of control yellow lab in a new light. I think it's the best of her books. If you're a dog lover at all, give this one a try.

This was a great story about PTSD, drug dealers, a dysfunctional family and animal abuse. It is one of those books that are hard to put down. My only problem with it was the bad language that she uses !
