"This book contains some stories from my life: the awkward growing-up years, the confusing dating years, the fulfilling work years, and what it was like to be asked to play one of my favorite characters again. Also included: tales of living on a houseboat, meeting guys at awards shows, and that time I was asked to be a butt model. A hint: all three made me seasick--Lauren Graham"-- Back of dust jacket.

Lauren Graham's peppy memoir shows that, while she and her best known character - Lorelai Gilmore - are not the same people, they do have a similar style of expression. Full of witty asides and tangents, Graham talks about her childhood, her theatre background, her writing, and her bumpy path to ... Read More »

I recommend listening to this in audiobook since Lauren Graham reads it herself. Also, since she is a fast talker, it is a fairly quick listen. I very much enjoyed Lauren's humor and a little bit of her back story. It didn't feel terribly in depth though. The parts about filming the Gilmore Girls (the first time) didn't add too much more to my understanding of what it was like to be on the show. She mostly highlighted plot lines and made fun of her outfits. It was really entertaining, but I felt like there could have been so much more depth there. Still, I loved listening to this book and I would recommend it to anyone who is a Gilmore Girls fan.

If you like Lauren Graham and her witty personality, then read this book. If you love Lauren Graham and really feel like she could be your friend, then I highly suggest you listen to the audiobook. Hearing Lauren Graham speak of her life and expressing herself with her usual wit and quirky charm was fantastic. You will not be disappointed.

Lauren Graham's peppy memoir shows that, while she and her best known character - Lorelai Gilmore - are not the same people, they do have a similar style of expression. Full of witty asides and tangents, Graham talks about her childhood, her theatre background, her writing, and her bumpy path to learning how to deal with the Hollywood machine.

If you're a fan of her work, you will likely enjoy this audio book which she reads herself.
She peppers it with songs and recorded dialogue with people in her life. If you have no idea who she is, this is not the book for you.

She also shares how it felt to go back to Stars Hollow, and there are some mild spoilers for the new Netflix series. Reader be warned!

I enjoyed hearing Lauren Graham narrate the audiobook; it brings the stories to life . An interesting book for fans of Gilmore Girls; it made me want to watch the 2016 4-part series again as well as the original series.
