"This book contains some stories from my life: the awkward growing-up years, the confusing dating years, the fulfilling work years, and what it was like to be asked to play one of my favorite characters again. Also included: tales of living on a houseboat, meeting guys at awards shows, and that time I was asked to be a butt model. A hint: all three made me seasick--Lauren Graham"-- Back of dust jacket.

Full of the fun and whimsy with which she infused her classic Lorelai Gilmore character, Lauren Graham recounts her life and making it in show biz in a fun, light-hearted fashion that you've come to expect from her. Lauren hit all the right notes for me with her autobiography. While it's not groundbreaking material by any means, it was fun and fancy-free, which is all I was expecting. If you're a fan of GILMORE GIRLS, I can guarantee you will enjoy TALKING AS FAST AS I CAN.

If you are reading this, you are likely a fan of Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls, the series she spent seven years playing Lorelai Gilmore. Or maybe not, perhaps you discovered Graham in her next role as Sarah Braverman on Parenthood. Either way, you know Lauren Graham as a TV mom, which she will explain in her memoir "Talking as Fast as I Can," was a role she never expected to play for so long, or so early in her career. I really enjoyed getting to understand how this actress came to play one of my favourite TV characters. I loved the behind the scenes stories and perspective from Graham. This is a quick and fun read about a young woman's journey to Hollywood and Stars Hollow.

Quick, fun read that makes you feel like you are sitting down, having a coffee and chat with Lauren Graham. Exactly what I want from a celebrity memoir.

This is a must-read for fans of Gilmore Girls, although I recommend watching the Netflix revival first in order to avoid spoilers.

This book is wonderful! And it was released at a perfect time for me. I had just come off maternity leave, during which I watched the original Gilmore Girls and Parenthood, so I was positively steeped in Lauren Graham. Confession: I bought this book for my sister for Christmas... and read it first. (I can't be the only person who's done this, right?)

I loved this book! I quite literally laughed out loud while reading it. In it, Graham covers everything from her childhood to the original Gilmore Girls to Parenthood to the new Gilmore Girls, and everything in between. It sounds like a lot, and like it'd be a dense book, but it isn't! It's presented like a series of vignettes, so you get snapshots. You don't get buried in information. I learned so much about her and her career. I felt like I was spouting Lauren Graham fun facts for the next couple weeks after reading it! Y'all, Lauren Graham is an actress/celebrity who has actual writing talent.

There's nothing quite so reassuring as reading a book that confirms all the good impressions you had about a person prior to reading, and that's precisely what this book does. It's a slim volume -- only 200 pages! -- and a lot of it is devoted to Gilmore Girls, so fans of the show will be pleased, but there's a lot more here, too. Chapters about Graham's struggles to make it in Hollywood, her years of singledom, how she turned to writing, etc. are super interesting, and throughout the whole book she just feels so warm and geniune and funny, and I finished this wanting to be best friends with her even more than I already did -- which, I think, is exactly the point of a book like this. I'm so glad I read this.

I don't even know where to begin.

Lauren Graham is smart, friendly, and funny throughout her book. She is warm and encouraging.

I recently had lengthy discussions with two of my very best friends about how her advice to single women is akin to the most obnoxious advice people try to give me, but rather than feeling irritated, judged, and invalidated, I felt... encouraged? Inspired? Dare I say... HOPEFUL?

I loved her descriptions of friends and acquaintances. I loved hearing about her experiences. I loved her advice, the outlandish claims she made about people, and the interjections of, "well at least that's how it is in MY book, hahaha, I'm drunk with power!"

There's certainly a Gilmore Girls nostalgia trip in here, so if you're a fan of the show I would definitely encourage reading it. But it's also just fun writing, so, even if you're not a fan of Gilmore Girls I'd encourage reading it. (I'd also ask, "Wait, why not? What's wrong with you?") When I finished the book, I wanted to read her novel and watch Parenthood and do lengthy google searches about everything and everyone she even just briefly mentioned.

I ALSO finished the book feeling inspired to write and create and continue to dream which I think is a wonderful gift she, as an author, gave to me, as a reader.
