has too many of the military films' clich├ęs for me to like unreservedly. it is good to see Patrick Mcgoohan in the cast, he of THE PRISONER fame of british tv, and this is the type of film rock Hudson was made to play in, unlike those doris day travesties, or the classic, GIANT, in which he is outclassed by, (as well as upstaged by) by bi- James Dean.

I liked this DVD. It is not to violent for children. The violence is subtle. There are no sex scenes. The story is strong and simple. The characters have depth. The movie maintains the mystery until the end. The plot does move slow. It is well acted. It is a spy story about intelligence gathering on the enemy during the cold war.

Moves at "glacial" pace. Wooden acting and sets. Real exterior submarine shots look stunning on big screen. Brain shuts down after 20 mins of watching.

Very well done and interesting old movie. A pleasure to watch. I would recommend this movie for all to see. No fast forwarding no falling asleep on this one. A++ DVD
