The sequel to the amazing One Crazy Summer (which won a Newberry award), P.S. Be Eleven continues the engaging adventures of the Gaither sisters. Such a good book (even if the first one is my favorite)! Looking so much forward to reading the next book about these characters!

In this sequel to One Crazy Summer, the Gaither sister are back in Brooklyn with their father and grandmother after spending the summer with their poet-mother who was involved with The Black Panthers. I didn't find this story nearly as compelling as the first, but Williams-Garcia does a great job of revealing the race, gender and political issues of the late 1960's in this historical novel.
