This novel offers piercing snapshots of the struggles of three urban high school girls and threat of school violence. Trina flits by Dominique; Dominique takes it the wrong way, vowing to fight Trina; Leticia witnesses it all. The fight goes down, and readers are left to wonder what might have been had Leticia intervened. An intriguing setup with a provocative conclusion.

This is a "day in the life" story of three very different girls as they roam the halls of their school, with one of them unaware of what may happen to her after school.

I read Jumped with a lot of anticipation. The author describes the situation and the characters so well that it is easy to become engrossed in the story's plot. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a thriller without the horror or gruel.
