In a land far, far away...

Her entire life, Rachel Talbot has dreamed of faraway lands. So when she's offered a job as governess to the Sheikh of Huria's children, it seems as if all her dreams are coming true...

But Sheikh Malik turns out to be infuriating! Yes, he's the most handsome man Rachel has ever seen, but he's also autocratic and aloof. Until, that is, a night under the starry desert sky leads to a passionate kiss... And suddenly a whole new world of possibilities opens up to this intrepid governess!

Here we have a woman who longs to leave England to see more of the world. It would be great if she actually went on a tour of the planet instead of settling into one small corner of it. But Rachel merely chafes at the confines of her school; she’s not necessarily looking forward to being a globetrotter.

So the novel has her settling down in the country of Huria, governess to three neglected children of an absent father who believes his children don’t need fantasy, playtime or fun. But Rachel is one determined lady and we find out what happens when an immovable object comes into contact with an unstoppable force.

The sheikh isn’t really a monster and Rachel isn’t a dragon. Rather, she’s a charmer with kindness, happiness and an undeniable joie de vivre pouring out of her with every sunny smile. She has a loving heart and Sheikh Malik and his children can’t help but open up to her. I found myself enjoying Rachel, too. She proved to be a lively, warm-hearted, winning woman with intelligence and sure knowledge of how to handle children and the grown man who’s supposed to be sending love and affection their way.

The attraction between them is palpable from the start. But they both do their best to put it aside, knowing that there are more important matters requiring their attention. When the UST becomes too strong for them to ignore and a moment of recklessness leads to unbridled sex, the two have to come to some hard decisions.

I actually found myself rooting for them both, in a way I rarely do when characters let their naughty parts do the talking. This is actually a terrific love story, one that works on many levels. Sit back and enjoy it with a fine cup of tea—or a glass of lemonade and mint.
