I think this book could've been a lot better if we weren't bogged down by these drastic secrets/backstories. It's okay to have relatively bad people without resorting to rape and other nasty stuff.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm anticipating the end of this series. I think the author needs to step back, and start over. Because things need to make sense, and they are not doing that anymore.
I think the only reason why I didn't absolutely love this was because the villain/rogue who doesn't believe in love isn't really my thing. About 100 pages in, I finally embraced Val's "I'm the best and rules don't apply to me" attitude and started to enjoy it. Definitely would recommend for anyone who is looking for a bad boy romance!
Loved loved loved this one. If you liked Lisa Kleypas's Devil in Winter, stop what you are doing and pick up this villain-turned-hero story. I cried! In a good way!
