You can definitely feel the breadth of Fazekas' vision. The story in itself is very cinematic and borrows much from the mystery murder mansion genre. As I read it, I sensed that it had the making of decent thriller. The skeleton was all there – the slow revelations of the main character's distant past, the mysterious stranger that arrives at their doorsteps, and dangers that lurk behind every corner.

The problem lied in the presentation. I felt like the plot was a lot darker than artist rendered it to be. Some frames felt static, like the battles didn't really jump out of the page, and that hindered the story's efficacy. The big reveal at the end felt hollow, because it wasn't foreshadowed and only took up one page.

The premise had me hooked, but the delivery failed to meet my expectations.
