In this New York Times bestselling novel the moon base commander has gone missing and Dash Gibson is on the case. The second mind-boggling mystery of the Moon Base Alpha series from beloved author Stuart Gibbs.

There's nowhere to hide on the world's first moon base. After all, it's only the size of a soccer field. So when Nina Stack, the commander of Moon Base Alpha, mysteriously vanishes, the Moonies are at a total loss.

Though he may be just twelve years old, Dashiell Gibson is the best detective they've got. But this confusing mystery pushes Dash to his limits. Especially since Dash accidentally made contact with an alien and has to keep it a secret. With the fate of the entire human race hanging in the balance, will Dash be able to solve the mystery of the missing Moonie?

This one was good, but not as good as book 1. Still pretty good. 4 stars, 4 and a half to be genorous. I listened to it on the audio book version, and the voice was good. It wasn't monotone, and the voice actor did well on sounding like a 12 year old boy. The other character voices were enjoyable as well. Hope this helps!

When space commander Nina goes missing at moon base alpha, it's up to Dashiell and his friend, Kira, to find her. Along the way Dashiell makes friends with an alien called Zan, avoids Patton and Lilly Sjoberg, two snobby kids who are brothers and sister and are after Dashiell with a vengeance. He also avoids meteor showers while out on the moon surface with a rover, thanks to Kira's epic driving skills. But can they find Nina before it's to late? And who is this Charlie? Also avoid Cesar Marquez.

Spaced out is a great mystery. I love all the cool facts in the book, and it takes place on the moon.

Spaced out really made me interested. The setting was in space and they give you some non-fiction facts about space when you finish a chapter.

Dashiell Gibson lives on the moon with his family in a facility called Moon Base Alpha. Both Dashiell’s parents are scientists and that is how he ended up living on the moon. His parents are working on experiments and they are helping to make the moon a livable place for other people in the future. There are other scientists and their families who live on the moon too. The commander, Nina Stack, is in charge of the entire project. One night, Nina goes missing and the last person to see her was Dashiell. Everyone is looking for Nina but they can’t find her. This is very puzzling because the Moon Base unit covers a small area so there are only so many places that she could be. It looks like it is up to Dashiell to solve this mystery.
