Kirk Douglas, Irene Papas, and few character actors and what looks like an Italian location make this film barely tolerable. Alex Cord, the co-star, as Kirk's brother was a complete washout as an actor for his whole miserable career. The men portraying the ruling mafioso here are not even Italian. The story line is unimaginative. Someone must have figured out a way to make money on Kirk's performance alone. In fact, this movie itself was a washout and was pulled from making the rounds of the theaters. Kirk Douglas wasn't Italian either but he put up a lot of the money to get this film made.
