I really enjoyed this easy-to-read book by a former Bachelorette. I've always been a fan of the show and it was interesting to read of Emily's journey to finding true love.
This book gives insight to Emily's life and her faith journey. As a girl, you can tell she had access and opportunity. However, as she outlines her struggles this is a great example of how things can appear fabulous from the outside but from the inside she simply wants love and acceptance. There is a good amount of time devoted to her bachelorette experiences on t.v. and sheds light on situations and decisions I was surprised by while watching the show. I felt better knowing how and why some things happened. As a faithful person myself, I appreciated her honesty and vulnerability with sharing her faith journey so far. I'm having my husband read the book too. He didn't grow up in a faith community and has already shared that he can relate to her childhood/teenage experiences.
This book is an easy read. I didn't want to put it down. I found it was easy to hear Emily's voice as I remember it from the television shows and interviews.
I knew Emily had lived an interesting life and this book tells her story well. I am a fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchises, but think I would have enjoyed this even if I weren't. A significant portion of the book is devoted to her faith journey.
I was surprised by her deep faith.
