This is a great Series. Great acting and keeps you on your toes. Season Five was made this year, can't wait for the Library to get it.

The acting of Highmore is even better than Perkins' 'Psycho' performance. The character of Norma, portrayed by Farmiga, is so organic it's nigh impossible to believe she's not simply portraying herself. But my favorite is Nestor Carbonell, as Sheriff Romero. He's the anchor that makes the show so relentlessly fascinating. He demonstrates vulnerability and strength, reminding one of a modern-day Humphrey Bogart. And if you have mother issues, like me, it works as a sort of adjunct therapy to regular, real-life psychotherapy. But don't tell the real-life therapist if you murder someone...cos' they're bound by law to notify the authorities.

This is the best season yet as Norman goes crazy. The last episode is very disturbing . This is a well cast show, all actors do their job.

The series provides the background of the young Norman (from Psycho) and the psychological changes he struggles with that shape his evil character. His strange relationship with "mother" is well developed through the series and answers a lot of questions about Norman's character. The actors that portray Norman and his mother are superb in their roles. This is a series that gets better and better with each season.
