I have mixed feelings about this one. The basic plot involving the disappearing child was intriguing. The plot had sufficient twists and turns and was intriguing. It kept my interest and was a fast page-turner. I disliked all of the characters, however, and the writing style was pretty bland.... Read More »

Loved this book! Such a page Turner, I could not put it down. I gave it 4.5 stars because the last 10 pages or so I found took away from the book a bit. Still a great read.

This book could have been a bit more realistic, but it is overall a great read. It really is a 'page turner'- I finished the book in just a few hours! I loved the general idea of having a kidnapped baby with the disturbing twists to the story. But I expected a little more from the ending.

A real page turner. Didn't like the ending.

This book did not do it for me. It started out great, but I really thought the real perpetrator in the end was silly. In the end it read like a soap opera.

This book is honestly somewhat difficult for me to rate. I was rather captivated, but the ending was so...random??

I was super annoyed that the parents could be so selfish and completely victimize their baby as the outcome of their personal problems (i.e., finance and health). However, at times, I couldn't help feeling bad for them and sympathizing.

The tone was fine for me. Straightforward, right to the point. BUT I was getting annoyed at all the sentences starting with pronouns.

The Couple Next Door gave me some pretty significant messages too. It's a reminder that money can be blinding, causing people to make some awful choices.

Anyway, I really can't say much about the book—seeing that it's a mystery and I don't want to reveal too much—but I did like it.

Too plodding and repetitive for the first half.

A good read with a decent plot. I liked the twists and turns in the second half of the book.

I picked up a used copy of this book, my main characters went by the names of Marco and Anna. Starting this book, I was hooked by chapter two. Having had no idea what the book was about but having seen it on the book charts I figured I was in for a good read. The first half of this book is decent, the last half is terrible. I have a sneaky feeling that the author figured out the ending after writing the first half and in an attempt to make sure everything fell into place, starting adding in all the applicable information to make the ending work. I found the storyline unbelieavable and the twists lame.

The characters were not likeable, but it did have some interesting parts. I felt that the plot was actually fairly predictable due to the fact that there weren't many characters in the story so it wasn't that hard to figure out the "who done it". The quality of the writing was just ok. It's a good book to read at the beach, but didn't offer much beyond that.

I enjoyed this book however I can't award it 5 stars unfortunately because I think it fell flat in terms of substance. The title was misleading as it wasn't even central to the storyline and the plot seemed somewhat far fetched for my liking. Did have a great twist at the end though.
