The creepy characters of R.L Stine are brought to life in a small town, and it's up to his daughter and her friends to stop them!

This movie is one of the more recent on this list. You do not have to be a fan of the books in order to enjoy this film, however, it may inspire kids to pick them up! We have plenty of R.L Stine novels in our collections.

This is an amazing movie! It is based around young Zach Cooper, upset about moving from the big city to a small town, finds a silver lining when he meets his beautiful neighbor Hannah. The teen is surprised to learn that Hannah's mysterious father is R.L. Stine, the famous author of the best-selling "Goosebumps" series. When Zach accidentally unleashes the monsters from the fantastic tales, it's up to Stine, his daughter and Cooper to return the beasts back to the books where they belong. This is a very suspenseful movie! My favourite part of the movie would have to be when Zach figures out that Hannah is one of R.L Stine’s creations. I loved how wonderfully this movie was acted to make it seem so real. B.T.W I hate Slappy The Dummy, also he’s creepy. I would recommend this movie to kids ages 13+ Because it has some scary parts to it that might be too much for a little one. Overall, this is a fantastic movie! 5/5

Family scary movie. An effective intro to horror films for children. Why one would want to introduce children to horror movies is a good question but such is ... reality ... bad parenting? I digress. To further deflate the scariness, watch the Bonus material 1st - it shows how the movie was made. "A monster is only as scary as its weak points."

Rated 6/10. A fun movie to watch. Nothing spectacular, but entertaining.

It’s no easy task to get all of author R. L. Stine’s monsters into one movie but Rob Letterman gives it his best shot in this rather silly horror show which doesn’t even try to hide the fact it’s based on a series of children’s ghost stories. Neither frightening nor particularly unsettling for anyone over the age of nine, Letterman’s cool retro style (think old school 80s shocker with Disney frosting) and above par CGI effects keep things palatable especially with Jack Black mugging bug-eyed for the camera and a healthy dose of self-deprecating slapstick—a kitchen interlude with homicidal garden gnomes calls to mind a similar scene from 1984’s "Gremlins". A surefire treat for any kid who’s read the books and a bit of updated nostalgia for the rest of us. Just try not to think too much.

Best movie ever. brings back memories from my childhood.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. I went into it thinking that it would be a movie that I could laugh at, not with. But the story was solid, Jack Black was a delight, and it brought back fond childhood memories.

I find the goose bumps books slightly pointless to read. But this film was ok.

Hilarious and entertaining.
Instead of creating a blood-chilling horror movie, a film company combined the Goosebumps stories and their author R.L. Stine into a delightful-to-watch motion picture. Incredible acting and great plot. I'm glad the zombies weren't so… well, modern zombie-ish.
