Haunting and captivating suspense drama. Enjoyed it. Awesome cast includes Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Christine Hendricks and Chloë Grace Moretz.

nothing to write home about! maybe except my disappointment w/ charlize theron, whose performance in this poorly directed, poorly scripted film is a low point in her career, perhaps. :(

Intriguing and suspenseful story. Although at times it felt like they were teasing the viewers: oh what are they writing on that paper? let's just cut away to someone else now instead of showing you na na na
I like the unconventional tomboyish style of the main character too.

I thought this was going to be boring. Boy was I wrong. The clues are all there from the beginning if you pay attention. I did not see the ending coming at all. Hint: There are two murderers and they are not working together. It was a coincidence of epic proportions and it was a miracle she survived.

Wow Hollywood is really turn out a bunch of boring crap movies. Another movie that is a waste of almost 2 hours of your life. Anyone that ranked this crap movie more than 1 star has no taste in movies!

Not as good as the book but still a decent thriller.

To the haters out there----> it was free to watch...

This movie lags in the suspense department although Charlize Theron as Libby Day was good.

Slow and intense, it tells a very good story. Many people may find it disturbing- if you like thrillers/mysteries with twists and turns then watch it. The past and the present are interwoven seamlessly until the end.

It had an interesting start. Switching between past and present but I felt the ending was convenient. I would agree that Gone Girl was a better movie.

Opening lines (Libby recalled mom said:) I love you, Libby. I love you, ladybug. Don't you ever forget that.

Libby Day (Self Intro at beginning:) I have a meanness inside me. Real as an organ. It's the Day blood. Something's freakin' wrong with it. I was eight the night they were killed and suddenly I was famous. The little orphan girl of the Kansas Prairie Massacre. So, strangers send me money. Just enough for me to do nothing. Which was exactly what I did.

Patty: I love the land. It's like loving your kids. I know you probably don't know what I mean, but it's this overwhelming feeling. Watching it grow and produce. And reproduce.

Man: Now I myself was once a farmer. My dad before me and his dad before him. But we farmers, we'd been swindled. "Plant fence post to fence post," they said. "Oh, and then buy more land, because, "well, they ain't making any more of it." Then, whoops. "We're sorry, we gave you some bad advice. "We'll just take your farm."
