"What begins as a beautiful evening at a party on a yacht ends with attempted murder...and a quest for revenge. Angie never expected a dream vacation to turn so ugly. One moment she was standing on the deck of a fifty-foot yacht and then next, she felt a burning sting in her side. A stab wound. And then a push. She is in the water. She can see people on the yacht, but they have not noticed she is gone, and all seem to have deliberately turned their backs,as the yacht begins slowly to pull away from her. The waves wash over her, sending her further to doom. These are her friends and one is her love. Each one had a reason for getting rid of her though she would not have put murder on that list. Until now. Revenge burns so deeply inside her she knows she will survive this somehow. She will get them. Each one of them-and there are three men, one woman. She will get them. One way or another. Told with Elizabeth Adler's trademark attention to luxurious detail of people and places, One Way or Another is a glamorous, twisty novel of vengeance and vindication."-- Provided by publisher.

I thought that the synopsis of the book made it sound very interesting like it was going to be very suspenseful and I enjoyed the prologue which made the book sound very intriguing. After reading it and getting through it, I thought it was still good and it kept my interest but it was not what I was expecting and thought it would be. A couple of the characters are very evil and make you think how can somebody be like that.

Poorly written, bad plot. Don't waste your time. Garbage - exactly. I didn't even bother to finish.

I took the book out because it was a best seller and the summary seemed interesting. Very disappointed by the tale as it jumped all over the place and the events seemed like they came from the imagination of an adolescent. I kept on reading in the hope that I might be rewarded by a great ending. No way - he kills his accomplice and then seems to commit suicide. Garbage - why did RPL buy 25 copies?

I have to agree with the other comments. This was not a good read. I have a rule that if I'm not engaged in the story after the first 100 pages, I give it up. Hence the book was returned unfinished. There are too many good books out there to waste time on a so so read.

This was a very strange read and I think that's why I hung in there till the end. Would not recommend it but if you have nothing else to read, go ahead. Author jumped everywhere throughout the entire novel. Not a keeper.

This is probably the sloppiest book I have ever read and I am astounded that it was published by St. Martin's Press. This novel has so many problems that I cannot believe that it was even seen by an editor. I hardly know where to start but how about this ".......with birds screeching like Emily Bronte's Mrs. Rochester locked in the attic." p.233 How could a major publishing house let that happen? I'm just getting started. The timeline jumps around all over the place; Lucy is at the house, then Lucy is going to the house -- the continuity is skewed over and over. And how about this for plausability--Ahmet is a multi-BILLIONAIRE (with underworld connections) who lives in a secluded house without guards, without any sort of security system and without night staff (the decorator forgot his notes one evening and just returned to the house and walked through the door) Did I mention that the house was filled with priceless treasures? In chapter 1, Marco was renting his seaside cabin but in chapter 3 he describes how he bought it with one of his early commision cheques. Pizza boy is two credits short of his Oxford degree but later he is described as "Oxford bound."The plot holes are just too numerous to mention. I don't know when I have read such an improbable mess. I just have to write about it because I have noticed alot of books are poorly edited these days (although this is the worst) Last year I read a book where a man jumped on a horse bareback and then he fell off and then he grabbed on to the STIRRUPS to pull himself up off the ground.(same publishers). Elizabeth Adler has thirty published novels so maybe the staff at Minotaur books just could not be bothered doing their jobs...... It seems so strange that with so many independently published novels that it would be the big houses dropping the ball. I have barely touched on the errors and inconsistecies and major plot holes. You could read this just for the fun of picking out mistakes but in my opinion this "thriller" was not the least bit thrilling.
p.s. Mrs. Rochester was a character in CHARLOTTE Bronte's classic novel "Jane Eyre"--a publishing house should just know that.
