In the tradition of The Girl on the Train comes the UK bestseller THE ICE TWINS , a terrifying psychological thriller with a twisting plot worthy of Gillian Flynn.

One of Sarah's daughters died. But can she be sure which one?

A year after one of their identical twin daughters, Lydia, dies in an accident, Angus and Sarah Moorcroft move to the tiny Scottish island Angus inherited from his grandmother, hoping to put together the pieces of their shattered lives.

But when their surviving daughter, Kirstie, claims they have mistaken her identity--that she, in fact, is Lydia--their world comes crashing down once again.

As winter encroaches, Angus is forced to travel away from the island for work, Sarah is feeling isolated, and Kirstie (or is it Lydia?) is growing more disturbed. When a violent storm leaves Sarah and her daughter stranded, they are forced to confront what really happened on that fateful day.

This book starts out slow but really takes a twist. I thought it was going one way and then roller coastered in another direction. Its a book that stays with you weeks after you've finished it. Read it! You won't be disappointed!

The Ice Twins by S. K. Tremayne is a psychological thriller with a strong sense of place and that includes both a mystery and a touch of a ghost story. Unfortunately I wasn’t very enthralled by this story, finding nothing new here to hold my attention.

My quibbles with The Ice Twin is one that I often have with stories of this nature. As with most thrillers the reader needs to accept a certain amount of implausibility in order for the story to work and I had some difficulty with that. Although this book wasn’t one that totally worked for me, many people have raved about this dark atmospheric story that revolves around a family broken by grief, loss and betrayal.

I'm all for dark and twisty mysteries, but none of the characters really grabbed my attention in this book. The setup and the setting were all interesting enough, but ultimately, the author's apparent loathing of one of his own main characters got in the way of his storytelling. His attempts to keep us guessing all rang a little hollow and contrived as well. There was potential there, but in the end, this book just felt a bit sour and unfulfilled.

This didn't maintain my interest therefore skipped a lot - certainly a surprise at the end - although a bit of a stretch.

Borrowed and devoured the same day. I simply could not fall asleep last night until I’d reached the end of this book. Tense, suspenseful, and utterly chilling... if I wasn’t expected to be a productive human today I’d be running off to the library in search of other novels by this author.

Definitely a strange book. Very creepy, very mysterious. I liked the different narrators, it really gave the book an edge.

This is the perfect novel to set on a Scottish Island. It is a creepy story about a "just-barely-functioning" family who quit London and take up residence on a uninhabited Scottish Island. It has been over a year since the accidental death of one of their identical twin daughters and the surviving twin is exhibiting some strange and unexplained behaviours. The father has lost his job and he feels this relocation will be beneficial, Is there method to his madness? The Island is remote and isolated and contact with the outside world is difficult at times because the Island doesn't have wifi or cell service. And there is a dilapidated old house with plenty of vermin and drafts. The environment of the Island contributes to the eerie atmosphere of story. The Island is fictional but based on a real Island off the coast of Skye.

Pulled in by the premise of this book. The remaining twin has a creepiness to her and the remote island with harsh weather elements adds a sinister setting. How the parents handle the situation is a bit unbelievable - but this is fiction. A good page turner that keeps you guessing. I was a bit unsatisfied with the ending.

A friend recommended this one to me so I read it. It took me a while to start it but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. Every time I thought I'd guessed who was the culprit I got proved wrong. Basically, this book had me guessing till the end. It was a wonderful mystery, creepy and fantastic at the same time.
