I liked it.
And I thinks it a kind of black humor. Don't take it seriously.
Ringing phone during classic concert - it is so familiar and sad...
But the best point is the soundtrack.

A thriller that takes way too long to thrill the audience. And the plot is weak. Passable.

I enjoyed it. It was a pretty neat thriller. Elijah Wood plays Tom with his trademark wide-eyed style of acting. The constant look of fear on his face made this film work. .
Actually the whole situation was impossible.... I man.. while Tom was passionately playing complicated pieces, he was in constant communication with his hostage-taker via an earpiece. If you are able to suspend your disbelief in the incredibly improbable flow of events unfolding on the screen, you will get drawn into the excitement and tension of it all.

This movie is not about classical music. The movie did talk a little bit about grand piano and classical music. But, very superficial. This movie is a suspense. The script is not impressive. The ending is very bad. The acting is ordinary.

Totally agree with the person who said this movie is not for anyone with any knowledge of or appreciation for classical music.

Suspension of disbelief people! it is a movie, make believe. It was an entertaining 90 minutes. it is a beautiful film, not a musical (there are some flaws, like in any movie).

One of the silliest movies I have ever watched - except I couldn't bear to watch the whole thing. The idea that a celebrated pianist would a) be all alone in his dressing room and backstage during a major concert; b) be using printed music (complete with threatening remarks written therein; and c) be talking and texting on a cell phone during a performance is so ludicrous that I had to stop the DVD about 30 minutes in.

I agree ...lame!!

If you have ANY sense of classical music, this is to be avoided at all costs.
Couldn't watch it to the end, the implausibilities being so idiotic.

Very lame story here. Trying to recreate the phone both movie but on a grand piano. Gave up after 45 minutes. Everything about this movie is stupid. Skip it.

Conductor: Let me tell you something about the piano that Tom is playing. This customized Imperial Boesenndorfer with eight full octaves
belonged to Patrick himself. This is the first time this piano has been on a stage anywhere. Sadly, we don't get to keep it. Tonight when we're finished, this piano is on an 11 PM plane to Switzerland, which is probably not what the board of directors thought I meant when I assured them that tonight they
would see this instrument take flight.
