Sherlock Holmes is an old and well-known character, regarded as the most famous detective of all time. So what better way to keep his name alive than to create a TV series on him? This series, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, and Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson, doesn’t fail to amaze audiences with its interesting storylines set in today’s world. Each episode takes viewers on a puzzling case that can only be deciphered by the greatest detective of all time. But what really adds to the greatness of the show, apart from the witty dialogues and the generally fast-paced plot, is that you get to be Sherlock and Dr. Watson as you solve cases with them. This leaves viewers guessing until the last moments, which makes the show very entertaining. I would rate it as 4.5 stars.

Sherlock seasons 1 and 2 have been great. But season 3 is slipping. It just feels like they are trying too hard to put something new or fresh into this series. It also feels like they are trying too hard to make things so creative, they end up feeling childishly absurd, and not ingenious. I do not regret watching season 3, but it definitely did not live up to the same level of intrigue and enjoyment from the first two seasons.

While Sherlock is still one of the best shows on TV, Series 3 is where Sherlock starts a slight decline in the quality of the show. It may be due to success of the two stars. Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch have become big Hollywood A-listers since the show began. That they returned to the show demonstrates their loyalty to the BBC franchise from which they finally gained notoriety. But it can't be denied that Series 3 does not have the same 'feel' that series 1 and 2 had. The episodes have incredible buildup, but the denouement and resolutions feel slapped together without adequate clues and lead-up. The show writer, Stephen Moffat, had similar problems with his run on Dr. Who. The introductions and build up's are great, the revelation and conclusions tend to be let down's. Even with that, the show is still one of the most enjoyable things on TV.

Well-produced but the pacing is uneven and Sherlock, as a proudly "out" sociopath, veers from being likeable to a narcissistic bore. The friendship between him and Watson seems to be sincere, though, and his intuitive leaps--whether deductive or inductive--and sometimes badly visually portrayed by computer graphics, are usually engaging.

I've never been able enjoy any British production on TV until now. I decided to give it a try after seeing Benedict Cumberbatch for the first time in a Star Trek Movie: "Into Darkness". This version of Sherlock is very well made, directed, special effects, even some comedy, which I love. The plot twists are fantastic so you can't figure out the ending, which adds to the fun. The only problem I have is being able to understand what they are saying at times, so am anxious to borrow the DVD's & "rewind".
Please tell me the DVD's are scratch free!!!!

Still very good and worth watching , especially for Sherlock fans.

I thought the first season was much better. too many contrived plot twists and cutting from one scene to another one. if I had seen this one first, I would not have seen the other seasons.
