I saw this as a 10 year old when it was in theaters and LOVED it!! So Nostalgic for me to see it now. It is as funny as ever! And now I get some of the jokes that definitely went over my head back in 1976.

If you ignore the racism, this movie is pretty funny and has a great cast. Also see "Clue."

Five famous detectives are invited to a creepy mansion. The promise, dinner and a murder by midnight. This is an old-fashioned murder mystery. Mostly spoof but good fun.

Funny, with enough twists to make everything meaningless. Peter Falk is excellent parodying himself.

A Neil Simon screenplay with tongue in cheek and twists and turns.

Funny movie. Reminds me of a Mel Brooks movie. Great slap stick, stupid, but funny one liners.

Have no idea which movie you saw, Veepea, but it COULDN'T have been this one. The ending offers a comic variation on a classic whodunit solution, but the whole thing is meant to be a parody, anyway. The rare Neil Simon movie (as far as I know) NOT based on a play. An amazing all-star cast at their very best! Peter Sellers, just as funny as when he played Clouseau & Alec Guiness in his last film before "Star Wars" typecast him forever! Guiness playing the blind butler, trying to fire Nancy Walker's deaf mute maid is HYSTERICAL!! Plus, there's Truman Capote himself playing host (he got a Golden Globe nomination)!

This was a horrible movie that wasn't funny and the ending made no sense.

"I'll tell you the meaning, Mr. Wang, if you can tell ME why a man who posesses one of the most brilliant minds of this century can't say his prepositions & articles. 'The', Mr. Wang! What is 'The' meaning of this!!"
