Twelve-year-old Flora Fox would do anything not to go to Penrice Hall, the boarding school her parents are shipping her off to because of a family emergency. Penrice has horses and an Olympic-size swimming pool, but flashy facilities won't change how Flora feels about being sent away and having to make new friends.

On the train ride to Penrice, Flora awakens from a nap to find herself transported into the past--1935, to be exact. As Flora rises to the challenges of her strange new life, she finds that the joys and complications of growing up are the same no matter what the year. And that friends and family will always be there to lend a helping hand.

Flora is a spoiled 12-year-old only child who is furious when her parents send her to a boarding school while their home is being renovated to accommodate her grandmother. Flora doesn’t care that the school, Penrice Hall, has wonderful facilities and she resents having to go. However, on the train trip to the new school Flora falls asleep and when she wakes she is in the past – 1935. All her electronics are gone and her clothes are awful and scratchy. The students who are her roommates at the school she finds herself at, St. Winifreds, were responsible for summoning her into the past and must find a way to return her to the 21st century. A wonderful, magical story! Reviewed by BPL volunteer EE.

Hi there!
It's Jasmin!
I have read this book once and liked it. I think that you shod read it, and what I like about it is that she is about 12. I have read lots of books and I think they are boring. Older is better. Jasmin
